Kohler Design Center

Blending the best of recreation, cultural, and special activities, the Village of Kohler offers compelling reasons for visiting. From the 25 specialty stores at Woodlake, to the exceptional cuisine at any of the eleven restaurants, to the Kohler Gardens, and more. A visit to Kohler would not be complete without a tour of the Kohler Design Center. This is the museum showcase of innovative product design and technology, creative achievement, and American history. Experience a fusion of old and new, as the space offers a comprehensive representation of Kohler Co.'s state-of-the-art products. The 36,000-square-foot-showcase houses three floors of history and innovation. The main floor showcases the products of the companies that comprise the Kohler family of businesses. It features Kohler's own "great wall of china," a floor-to-ceiling display of plumbing fixtures in all shapes, sizes, and colors. The lower level features the Kohler Company Museum. Watch a short film and view displays from the company's establishment in 1873 as a maker of cast iron farm implements. Also in the lower level is an arts gallery developed by the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. The “Industry in Action” factory tour is offered every weekday morning and offers guests an intimate glimpse of everything from vitreous china lavatories to the production of massive 6-foot cast iron tubs. Make your way through several Kohler buildings and learn about Kohler’s innovative Arts/Industry Program. Tours are free and open to the public.
