Shaginappi Park

Acquired in 1997, this park is the site of a former Boy Scout camp. Shaginappi Park is located at W3220 Velvet Beach Rd., Malone. The park is a natural area of 100 acres of wetlands, lakeshore, woods and prairie and is situated adjacent to Columbia Park, sharing Calumet Harbor. Pipe Creek also winds through the park property. Hiking and skiing trails, a snowmobile trail and the restored lodge are the primary attractions to the park. The lodge is only available to Boy Scout Troops at this time. Due to extensive archeological findings on the site, the park has potential for historical interpretation and a museum.
