The Northwestern Trail is a short segment of railroad right-of-way located between Ripon and the west county line. It is about two and one-half miles in length. The trail is part of the county snowmobile trail system. It is used for hiking, bicycling, and running. The rural section is used for snowmobiling. Other permitted uses include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
