Walleye Weekend Family Fishing Tournament

Event Details: This free Family Fishing Tournament is held on Oven Island, and children line the banks of the two north channels, often shoulder to shoulder. Each catch is weighed on electronic scales, with the heaviest winning. Contestants may choose to fish both days or only one day of their choice. It’s the beginning of summer, so let’s go fishing!

Be sure to bring your own fishing pole, equipment, and live bait if you’re interested in participating.  Equipment will not be provided.

Trophies will be awarded and announcements made each day, 15 minutes after the tournament has concluded on the Mercury National Tournament Stage.

1st through 5th place will win Walleye Weekend trophies for the Family Tournament on Sunday. Results to be determined by dividing the total number of pounds of fish caught by the family by the number of registered participants per family. In case of a tie, the winner with the biggest fish wins.

Registration Information: Pre-registration online is encouraged but not mandatory, as parties can still register on site the day of each tournament.
