Sit Down to a Hearth-Cooked 19th-Century Meal
Enjoy a delicious hearth-cooked meal prepared by your own hands in the historic Wade House Stagecoach Hotel. From wild rice soup and pork ragout to a Yankee pot roast served alongside brethren cheddar bread and apple pandowdy, cook delicious and authentic 1800s-style meals over wood-burning stoves just as Wade House matriarch Betsey Wade did more than 150 years ago. Once food is ready, sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor during a family-style dinner in the quaint and lovely Wade House dining room.
Meal Themes
Wisconsin Winter: Includes wild rice soup, pork ragout, maple-glazed sweet potatoes, baked macaroni and cheese, buttermilk biscuits, applesauce with lemon and nutmeg, and cranberry apple cobbler.
Yankee: Includes corn chowder, Yankee pot roast with vegetables, ragout of French beans or succotash, brandied cranberry sauce, brethren cheddar bread, apple pandowdy, and Muster Day gingerbread.
German: Includes potato leek soup, sauerbraten (spiced beef roast), spaetzle (German noodles), Dutch beans/carrots, Pennsylvania-style sauerkraut, apple bread, and krumkake (sour cream coffee cake).
