Walleye Weekend 2026 Kids Fishing Tournament
Event Details: This free Kids Fishing Tournament is held on Oven Island, and children line the banks of the two north channels, often shoulder to shoulder. Each catch is weighed on electronic scales, with the heaviest winning. Contestants may choose to fish both days or only one day of their choice. It’s the beginning of summer, so let’s go fishing!
Be sure to bring your own fishing pole, equipment, and live bait if you’re interested in participating. Equipment will not be provided.
Trophies will be awarded, and announcements made each day, 15 minutes after the tournament has concluded on the Mercury National Tournament Stage.
All places (first-third) for each age group (4 and under, 5-8, 9-14, 15-17) for the Individual Competition on Saturday will win Walleye Weekend Medals.
Registration Information: Pre-registration online is encouraged but not mandatory, as parties can still register on site the day of each tournament. The first 100 kids (17 and younger) to register online will receive a $5.00 Fleet Farm Gift Card on the day of the event. Online registration is available until Friday, June 12th, at 3 pm.
