Sammy Ray is a well-rounded musician based in Wisconsin who has been consistently nominated by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) for Female Vocalist, Singer/Songwriter, Best Song, and Best Performer.

 

A prominent member of multiple bands, Sammy is a talented multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, harmonica, banjo, drums, and occasionally keys. She studied percussion at the University of Wisconsin–Waukesha and music education with a focus on finger-style guitar at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.

 

While she is best known for her country songwriting, Sammy draws inspiration from progressive rock and metal artists such as Opeth, Pantera, Tool, and Steven Wilson, giving her performances a unique depth and edge.
