Lake Winnebago: Its Ancient Geology, the Ice Age and Early History

June 12 @ 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm

Free

Lake Winnebago has a long and complex geologic history. Formed during the late Ice Age thousands of years ago, its true beginning was in shallow tropical seas that once covered what is now Wisconsin millions of years ago. This program will explore the Niagara escarpment and other clues to the story of how Lake Winnebago came to be over a very long period of time, what was living then, the history of its name, and scenic beauty. A great place for nature photography, stand by for a surprise or two.
