Horicon Marsh Wildlife Refuge Main Dike Road

This Refuge service road bisects the marsh and offers views of marsh and woodland habitat as well as migrating birds and other wildlife. The eastern portion (two-level gravel road) is open for a leisurely 2 mile drive mid-May to mid-November. The western 1.5 mile portion (gravel) is open year round for hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Access from Rockvale Road or County Road TW on the east or from Hwy 26 on the west. The uneven terrain is not suitable for road bicycles and the western portion of trail may be impassable after heavy rains. There is a designated site if you wish to bring your fishing pole and try your luck at a catch.
