Kate McGarry is widely recognized as a jazz artist and songwriter who brings authenticity and vitality to everything she delivers regardless of genre. McGarry looks beyond the jazz world for material, singing cover versions of Peter Gabriel, Björk, Bob Dylan, Sting, and Joni Mitchell. Kate has 7 critically acclaimed albums and 3 Grammy nominations to her credit.
McGarry has performed on some of the world’s most beloved stages, from Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center… Birdland to Newport Jazz Festival. And she has recorded or toured with such jazz luminaries as Hank Jones, Clark Terry, Fred Hersch, Kurt Elling, and Maria Schneider, to name a few.
Kate represented the U.S. State Department and Jazz at Lincoln Center for 3 years as a Jazz Ambassador in the American Music Abroad program, touring Romania, Albania, Brazil, Chile, China, and Mongolia.
