SUMMARY:Adventure Cave Tour
DESCRIPTION:Are you looking for a fun and physical interpretive tour of a wild cave? Our Adventure Caving includes Carolyn’s Caverns and Mother’s Cave\, with lots of crawling and exploring. Learn how caves are formed\, some geological history of this area\, and about animals that use the caves. Challenge yourself to try all the (sometimes small) tunnels and ‘The Squeeze’!\n \nFor the Adventure Caving Tour\, participants will first tour the 4 caves of Carolyn’s Caverns but will be expected to use crawl tunnels to go between each. We will then enter Mother’s Cave\, which is all crawling\, sometimes on your belly and sometimes on your hands and knees. Tunnels can be tight and muddy\, and this tour is quite physical\, but loads of fun!\n \nParticipants need to bring a flashlight and must wear closed-toe footwear (no sandals or flip-flops). To be comfortable\, a sweatshirt and long pants are recommended\, as the cave is around 55 degrees. This also provides protection from rocks. The tour lasts for 2-3 hours depending on the group size\, maximum 30 people. The minimum age is 10 years old\, and participants must be accompanied by an adult. Flashlights required.\n \n*Note that the nature center is still closed for our building remodel. Please meet at the pavilion located behind the nature center. Please do not go inside the construction zone that is marked with orange snow fencing.\nDue to the building closure\, the only restroom facilities will be the pit toilet building and portable toilets with a mobile hand-washing station.\nPre-registration required; no walk-ins accepted. \nClick here for ticket information.
