Wishing Stick: The Art of Winding

August 8 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Join us for a unique journey of inspiration and creativity as you explore our gallery and craft your own wishing stick. Begin with a leisurely stroll through the gallery, allowing the art to stir your imagination and spark inspiration. Then, as you wind your way around your wishing stick using yarn, jute, raffia, ribbon, or string, feel free to embellish it with beads, shells, or other found objects to personalize your creation.

The meditative act of winding serves as more than just a crafting activity; it provides a calming and therapeutic experience, offering a simple yet effective tool for managing anxiety, regulating emotions, and coping with stress. As you engage in this process, take moments for introspection, reflecting on your wishes and dreams, and cultivating essential coping mechanisms.

This class is a sanctuary for self-discovery and creative expression, where the act of viewing art, winding your wishing stick, and crafting converge to nurture your well-being. Whether you seek solace, inspiration, or simply a moment of respite, you will find it in this tranquil space.

Ages 12+ accompanied by a parent at all times
