THELMA Gallery Exhibitions | Welcome to the Prairie House Studio | Reclaiming My Time

This November, THELMA is taking sculpture art to another level with two new galleries. W L Nettelhorst, a local artist whose work has been featured in Neiman Marcus, will display over 40 pieces of his work while also sculpting new pieces right inside THELMA’s upper gallery. This interactive experience will allow gallery-goers to observe his process and physically see his progress. Nettelhorst’s inspiration is derived from his connection with nature along with the ancient lineage of stone sculpting.

In THELMA’s lower gallery, electric artist Chris Murphy will display his works, which range from sculpture, to mosaic, to ephemera, and beyond! Using various parts of antiquated electrical equipment, Chris pieces together visceral, thought-provoking imagery that you simply cannot take your eyes off of. Inspired by the mechanical beauty of the inner workings of electric devices, he began using those parts to create the movement that his pieces so, for lack of a better term, “naturally” show.

Both exhibitions will be open to the public in THELMA’s FREE gallery within the Susan O. Ahern Contemporary Wing from November 1st through December 13th (during business hours), with an opening reception to honor the artists on November 8th.
