Storm Water Management and Water Quality

January 11, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

This presentation by Nick Waldschmidt, Stormwater Engineer, will explain the City of Fond du Lac regulations for stormwater management, city stormwater management programs and efforts, how stormwater ponds work, and what residents can do to protect area waterways. Stormwater management regulations include water quality requirements, peak discharge (flooding), infiltration, and protective areas requirements. Steps residents can do to help include household hazardous waste disposal, pet waste management, vehicle washing, yard waste management, proper pesticide and fertilizer application, stream and shoreline management, and infiltration and reuse of stormwater at residential properties. The city also has an Adopt-A-Drain program to keep storm inlet clear of debris and obstruction.
