Join us at Salem United Methodist Church for:

“Lincoln’s Mentors: The Education of a Leader” by Michael Gebhardt: Without several mentors, a diverse handful of men, some of whom Lincoln had never met but others of whom he knew intimately; Lincoln would likely have remained a small-town lawyer and without Lincoln, the United States as we know it many not have survived. This book tells the unique story of how Lincoln emerged from obscurity and learned how to lead. Our reviewer, Dr. Jon B. Gilliland, is “retired” after more than 45 years as a music educator and school administrator. He continues to teach music education, performs, and directs a church choir.
