Price: Free Admission!

Our featured artist for the month of November is Roxine "Rocky" McQuitty.

Rocky's Bio: "Does anyone really care where I went to art school or how many awards I’ve received, except me? So, briefly, I taught anatomy, pathology, forensic science and some other yucky stuff way back when we only had Quincy as a role model. Most of my professional science educator career was accomplished at Milwaukee Area Technical College. I retired and moved to Seattle where I took lots of art courses at Pratt Fine Arts Center. After some floundering, I discovered PRINTMAKING and started my new career. I have a full-sized Takach Press in my house and anything that is flat, not too thick, and can be inked can be put through under lots of pressure to get an image on paper. I am also of proud of getting images (printing) off metal and acrylic which don’t hold ink too well. I love printing cutting boards. They are kitchen history! You get the interesting shape, the wood or plastic pattern, and then can wonder forever what was cut to pieces on the little thing. Some cutting boards inspire stories that work out as collages.

Do look for my latest collage, “…better than a good day at the office” (See photo) at the Fond du Lac public library gallery this month, November 2019." Roxine McQuitty Represented in Wisconsin by Ubuntu Art Space and Gallery and Frame, Fond du Lac
