Warbirds and classic remote control aircraft will take to the air on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 16-18. Sunday, August 19, is a "fun fly" featuring many types of remote control aircraft, including acrobatic planes in all shapes and sizes. Spectators of all ages sit for hours, soaking up the last sounds and smells of summer-- brats on the grill and airplanes in the air.
With wingspans over nineteen feet, some of these RC planes are actually larger than real aircraft. Some real acrobatic planes have wingspans of approximately seventeen feet. Some planes may drop harmless "dummy bombs" from the sky while others will amaze you with precise formation flying and smoke shows. Still others will excite the whole family with flight speeds of up to two hundred miles per hour... whistling in the air just like the real thing.
